Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

A UNESCO world heritage site, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway or rather DHR was built between 1879 and 1881. Standing at a height of 2200 m, Ghum is the highest altitude station on the DHR track. It is among one of the top tourist attractions in Darjeeling and the Toy Train starts from New Jalpaiguri and ends in Darjeeling.

Singalila National Park

Perched high at a height of 7000 feet, the Singalila National Park is the highest national park in Bengal. Famous for its breathtaking views, this national park is home to a large number of rare species and orchids. One can easily spot the very exotic and rare Red panda and Himalayan Black Bear in here.

Batasia Loop

Batasia Loop is located just below the Ghoom station and is yet another must-visit place in Darjeeling. It was built back in the year 1919, to lower the inclination of ascent of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railways. This tourist spot offers with panoramic views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and various other Himalayan peaks.

Tiger Hill

At an altitude of 2590 meters, Tiger Hill offers with the most spectacular sights of sunrise. It is always the first choice for tourists who are visiting Darjeeling. Tiger Hill is also the summit of Ghoom, which is the highest railway station in Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.

Happy Valley Tea Estate

This tea estate is the second oldest in the emerald green town of Darjeeling. It is said to provide with breathtaking views of the Himalayas and is a popular tourist attraction. When in Darjeeling, do not forget to take a guided tour through the fragrant factory of Happy Valley Tea Estate.
